Types of Specialty Printers

The average office is going to use an average printer for getting work from the computer into a printed format. This printer may be a personal printer, a network-based commercial printer or a multi-purpose all-in-one printer but for all intents and purposes it’s going to be the basic printer that the average office employee is familiar with using.

Some businesses, however, will also have specialty printers that employees will need to learn how to use. Examples of such printers include:

  • Photo printers. Businesses that print documents with images may have specialty photo printers on site. Businesses that use pictures in presentations may also have this.
  • Disc printer. The office may use a DVD labeler to do various types of CD labeling for the purposes of filing or for printing on promotional DVDs.
  • Portable printer. Some businesses have a portable printer that members of the company will take to conferences and other off-site locations.
  • Receipt printer. Occasionally businesses will have printers specifically for business receipts.

There are a variety of different specialty printers out there that you can review for your business if you think that the basic printer doesn’t quite meet all of your company’s needs.
