Training Your Puppy

Bringing home your new puppy is an exciting time, especially since puppies are so cuddly and snuggly. Puppies are so playful and full of antics as they explore their new environment, you can’t help but forgive their little indiscretions like tinkling on the floor or tearing up the checkbook.  Puppies need training for a variety of commands especially potty training and chewing. Puppies can be very destructive, chewing anything from the newspaper left on the floor to the floor boards and carpets.

Crate training is a way to help dogs learn where and when to go to the bathroom. Napping away in their snuggly discount dog crates, when their owner releases them from the crate they go straight outside to relieve themselves on a patch of grass. It is recommended to return to the same patch over and over so the scent of their urine entices them to go to the bathroom again and again.

Often, dogs are trained to stay in their own yard but if that doesn’t work using a PetSafe electric dog fence will ensure he understands his boundaries. Some puppy owners have great success using PetSafe Dog Training Shock Collars to deter chewing, going potty inside the house or destroying items around the house.
