People Who Like What?

When it comes to human beings, it’s interesting to note how similar – and different we all are. Many of us have similar lifestyles or upbringings, yet are totally different in our likes and dislikes. You would think that our pasts would have something to do with our preferences. And, sometimes it does. But there is no telling what likes and dislikes one individual may have just by knowing their past.
Wealthy people – you would guess, like expensive things. Yet, you meet many very well to do people that shop at discount stores or have coupons for sale items in their wallet. Is it because of the way they were raised? Maybe it is just good common sense to be thrifty no matter how much you have. There are wealthy people that are scrooges, and others that are philanthropists. There is no telling what type of spender you are just by the amount of money you have in the bank.
In the same way, there are many poor people that are so generous that they would give their last nickel to anyone that they felt needed it more. It seems that poverty can bring out the best in some people. Many seem to have an awakening on what is truly important in life. Living meagerly is a hard, stressful way to live; yet some of the happiest people on earth have very little in monetary things.
Opposites tend to attract each other. However, like-minded people tend to congregate together. Our likes and dislikes are as individual and wide spread as the types of cereal there is to choose from at the grocery store. The boxes all contain cereal, but the brands, flavors and nutritional values are all over the board.
